This is my second set of lights. The first one lasted 6-7 monthes. Then they started to dim and keep flashing a little. I bought another set and it’s been like 5 monthes now. I have a two light fixture mounted on a wall above the main door that gets you in the house. Well these lights work everyday from sunset until the morning. I keep them on so the house looks occupied at all times except mornings.

9-watts i believe are like 40W in Incandescent.

I just got this, so I don’t know how long it lasts. Looks fine, does the job.

However, note that each bulb is 1 3/4 inches in diameter and a bit over 4 inches in length. That’s quite a big bigger than the bulbs I’m replacing. Also, the bulbs are frosted, not clear. Worked for me, but YMMV.

While I agree that these bulbs are odd shaped and large, they have saved the day for us in a large kitchen light fixture we have which was originally designed to fit 6 40 watt INTERMEDIATE base bulbs, which are very expensive and hot burning. I wanted to find a fix for that bad situation (and those bulbs which burn out so quickly), and was pleased to find adapters taking the intermediate base to candelabra and then these odd bulbs which are cool and burn much longer. They are much cheaper in the long run and even if they are strange looking, I just can’t mind seeing them under the circumstances. (They actually hang down in a large pot rack and don’t look too bad.) They are not sized for a normal chandelier, and the designers need to work on that, but they could be used in any other candelabra base or with an adapter where one is looking for a 40 watt equivalent bulb, as we were.

I ordered these bulbs to go in the lamp in our ceiling fan but they are too large to fit. In fact I have unsucessfully tried to place them in other lights but they look weird. I am all about using CFLs but these are probably three times the size of normal 40w candelabra bulb.

I bought these bulbs for a kitchen light fixture because they had a small base. The bulbs replaced incandescents that burned out fairly often. So far they are very good. The light output is strong, possibly better than the 40 Watt bulbs they replaced. The only problem with them is they are longer than the bulbs they replaced and hang below the glass. Given the shape this does not look bad for a kitchen fixture.
