Bosch AE-9.5 PowerStar 1.5 GPM Point-Of-Use Indoor Tankless Electric Water Heater Reviews

Review by F. PATCH:

My wife reminded me that our children and grandchildren were due to visit our cottage in one week, but not hot water. I placed my order on line and it was delivered in 3 days. Hot water at the cottage in 4 days. Wow it only took me 15 minutes to install. Then hot showers for all on the weekend. Great product.Bosch PowerStar 1.5 GPM Point-Of-Use Indoor Tankless Electric Water Heater #AE9.5

Review by Flashlight fan:

This heater works as advertised! The adjustments for temperature and the 220v hookup should be done by someone comfortable with these tasks – the instructions are not as clear as they could be. The indicator light is very helpful it adjusting the flow as it indicates when the unit is on (there is a click also).

Bosch GL4 Ariston 4-Gallon Point-of-Use Indoor Electric Mini-Tank Water Heater Reviews

Review by S. Knudsen:

Ever since we moved into our new house my wife has complained about how long it took the hot water to get to the kitchen sink from the hot water heater in the garage. Since installing the Ariston GL 4, she has been ecstatic!! Hot water is instant. It is such a pleasure not to have her complain about our former water problem. Even when I am “forced” to do the dishes, I can’t complain about our lack of hot H2O. Installation was easy except for the ill-fitting two top fittings. They will accept the hose extentions (hardware store), but you must be firm and patient. It took away alot of our storage space beneath the sink, but it was worth it.

Review by D. Kamp:

If your living in a place like mine where your hot water heater is a long way from the kitchen sink, then you are probably going crazy like I was waiting and waiting for the hot water to finally get to the faucet. There are technical ways to remedy this, but they involve a lot of plumbing, auxiliary pumps, and ripping half your house apart. Since I rent, I was thinking that the landlord wouldn’t take to kindly to this idea. So I started casting about for a better solution.

That’s when I came up with the idea of putting a little water heater as close to the kitchen faucet as possible. With this, the hot water is right there where you need it. No waiting and wasting a lot of water while running the faucet so that a half mile of plumbing warms up.

‘Only problem is a tiny tank has very limited capacity. If you’re only washing a dish or two like me, then no problem. But if you wash a sink full of dishes, it will quickly run out.

But the trick is to hook this little heater right in line with the hot water supplied from the big tank. As you draw hot water, cold water will go into the small heater, but only for a gallon or two. Then as you continue to draw hot water, the small heater now has hot water being supplied to it, so the hot water just keeps on coming.

I checked around with local suppliers and found small hot water heaters, but most were kinda short and stubby and wouldn’t fit under the sink well at all. But I stumbled upon this neat deal from Ariston. It’s a nice clean design, well insulated, and fits under the sink extremely well. I also felt that the price was very reasonable considering how nice it is. The funny thing is, it seems to be specifically designed for exactly the idea I had in mind. It was a snap to install.

So you may be thinking: Yeah. This all looks good in theory, but does it really work? I have to admit I was skeptical at first, but I have to tell you that this is one of those rare times when an idea I have actually works better than imagined. I’ve done small loads and big. The hot water is right there (immediately!) when you need it. And for all practical purposes it appears to be an infinite supply. I’ve had it in now for about 3 weeks and marvel each time I go to wash out a dish or two. Incredible! Don.

Factory-Reconditioned Powerstar Whole House Electric Tankless Water Heater AE125 Reviews

Review by D. Vance:

We bought this water heater for our guest house. After major rewiring and plumbing changes and drywall repair from the rewiring and plumbing, we were finally ready to install. The installation went well and at first it seemed the system was working. However, after a short period of time, the water was not staying hot. It fluctuated in temperature when taking a shower and trying to do dishes in the kitchen sink, it actually went cold. We thought something was wrong so we called CPO (where we bought it) to see about getting this unit replaced, and they referred us to Bosch. After troubleshooting with Bosch on the phone, changing settings, water flow, etc., over a period of a few hours, we were not getting the improvement we had hoped for. To get hot water, the water pressure had to be turned so low that you could not reasonably expect to take a bath…it took forever to fill the tub. We continued to try different settings for a couple of days, but we had guests coming and needed hot water (which we had tried to explain to Bosch) so we went to the big orange store and bought an identical unit for 9. That one worked much better and proved to us that something was wrong with the first unit. Trying to return the unit to CPO, they required an incident number from Bosch. Called Bosch to get an incident number (why didn’t we get one in the first place?) and had to call back several times due to long waits on the phone. They will not give an incident number unless they determine the unit is defective. If the board needs to be replaced, they will replace that, but will not give us an incident number to return the unit. So now we have a paper weight that cost 0. CPO will take it back, but not without charging a restocking fee and shipping. Why would we want them to restock this and sell it to someone else? Our only recourse at this time is to get back on the phone with Bosch and try to have them determine whether or not this item is defective. Never mind that they would have us go without hot water the whole time. This has been frustrating and expensive. Also, even though we have one that works, it is not really robust enough for a whole house water heater. Better as a point of service heater, but then you better make sure you have a big enough electrical service in your house to manage everything else you need to use. We have 200 amps, but if we needed two of these units, we’d have to upgrade our service in order to accommodate the huge amount of power these things need up front. Don’t buy one of these unless they get the technology more stable.

Review by Ernesto Perez:

Great product. Will give you enough hot water even for the new england cold weather area.

You will need to fine tune the water flows and consider the anti-scalding faucets to reduce cold water intake, because you might get too much cold water flow. Once you balance the flow you will get a very nice hot shower!!

something worth to install.

Stiebel Eltron Tempra 20 Electric Tankless Water Heater

Stiebel Eltron Tempra 20 Electric Tankless Water HeaterUnlimited supply of hot water: The Tempra; continually heats water instantaneously as you require it – and only when you require it. The Tempra; unit completely replaces a conventional tank heater with no disruption to your comfort and hot water needs.Save energy and reduce your electric bill: Electric tank type water heaters are subject to stand-by losses which amount to 15 – 20% of the kWH used. In addition, water in a tank has to be heated hotter than necessary to account for these stand-by losses. Changing to a tankless system like the Tempra; eliminates these problems and results in typical savings of at least 15 – 20% on the heating portion of your electric bill.Sleek design saves space: The Tempra; takes up considerably less space than conventional tank type water heaters and saves valuable living space.Control temperature simply by setting a dial: Set the knob on the front cover and enjoy water temperatures between 86;F (30;C) and 125;F (52;C). Change the desired temperature at anytime. Advanced microprocessor technology ensures that the water temperature never deviates from the set point.Better than gas: The Tempra; has several advantages over a gas-type tankless water heater. Compared to many similar gas tankless models the Tempra; is less expensive to purchase. Installation is also much simpler and cheaper since it is not necessary to vent a Tempra; to the outside. The venting that a gas unit requires causes anywhere from a 10 – 20% efficiency reduction from heat escaping out the exhaust pipe. Furthermore, for every cubic foot of gas burned, two cubic feet of air have to be mixed in to create ideal combustion. In a cold climate, this hurts efficiency further. When a gas unit fires, it draws in air around it, heats the water,

Stiebel Eltron Tempra 20 Electric Tankless Water Heater Reviews

Review by Dallas E. Romanowski:

This is the 2nd Stiebel tankless hot water heater I have purchased. The first was for my home and the 2nd for my carriage house. Before buying Stiebel hot water heaters, I purchased a different brand — AND had a terrible experience. Stiebel is definitely the way to go if you need an electric tankless hot water heater.

And I’ve had no problems with the Distributor. During the 1st purchase, the sales person on the phone was very friendly and helpful. The second purchase was facilitated online and delivered on time…

Bosch GL6 Ariston 6-Gallon Point-of-Use Indoor Electric Mini-Tank Water Heater Reviews

Review by orangejulio:

This is our 2nd Ariston heater – the first is a 4 gallon under the kitchen sink. We got this one to sit in our basement bathroom and feed it, the main floor bathroom sink and a future 1/2 bath on the 2nd floor. It just makes so much sense to keep a small amount of hot water ready to use right near the fixture. That way you don’t have to waste a bunch of water if you need hot water. These seem very well insulated, so I think that the standby losses are negligible. Our main heater is a gas tankless, and these really help improve the performance for intermittent uses such as washing hands or dishes. I just put this inline with the tankless, so that it can “smooth” out our hot water. The tankless works best for steady uses, such as showers and filling a dishwasher. Adding one of these Aristons gives you the best of all worlds.

Review by JON IN L.A.:

I’ve purchased 2 of these for two different purposes. Both are GREAT! Easy to install (I am boarder-line incompetent when it comes to plumbing and even I was able to do this with only a couple trips to the local hardware store).

The quality does not seem all the great … but for the price and so far (one I’ve had and used for almost 2 months, the other almost a month) they work fine and there are no problems.

FACTUALLY: It does seem to take a good half hour or more to heat up and re-heat once the hot water is used. It would not in any way be useful as a tank-less water heater since only lukewarm water at best comes out as the tank reheats. Also, I live in Southern California and it is the middle of summer. I don’t know how long it will take and it’s performance either during the winter when tap water is usually colder or what would happen in colder climates with near freezing water coming into the tank.

NOTE: CHECK THE DIMENSIONS CAREFULLY. THE SIX (6) GALLON SIZE IS PRETTY BIG AND ALTHOUGH I DID NOT WANT TO ACTUALLY PLACE UNDER A SINK/VANITY, I DON’T THINK IT WOULD FIT UNDER ANY OF MY AVERAGE/ORDINARY SINKS OR VANITIES.

USES:

1. In an extra bathroom with no hot water, it provides enough for a quick but good shower.

2. For a pet bathtub with no access to hot water, it make a GREAT warm bath for my now VERY HAPPY DOG!
