i recently purchased a triton hot water system for a fourth of july camp out. thinking i was a day late on my order didnt plan on it even getting here on time!! IT DID!!! way to go Amazon!!!! as far as the heater goes!!! 5 Star all the way!! plug it in to some water, install two batteries, hook up to propane!! and shower to your hearts content!!! absolutely awesome!!! took the advice from other users and shielded it from the wind, had absolutely no problems!! one shower for 19 people for three days and not one cold shower!!! i rate it as one of the best things since sliced bread!!!!!!

The Triton water heater that I recently purchased was delivered very promptly and was in excellent shape. Other than the garden hose converter fitting for the output port being the wrong thread size for U.S. garden hoses, everything went together easily and quickly. After purchasing the correct output fitting, I was able to convert an outside shower from one with just cold water to one with hot water. The heater works beautifully and heats water as advertised. I wish I would have stumbled across this product years ago.

I’m impressed with the tankless water heater, but must say that if I had know what I know now about the installation I would have thought twice about purchasing it. My old water heater vented with 3″ vent. This unit take 5″ and above 2000 ft elevation you must vent with 6″. I’m just under 4000 ft. So you must install new vent up through the roof. The unit uses more gas, but for a much shorter time, so it must have 3/4 inch gas pipe plumbed to it. All in all quite a bit of work, but I’m sure it will pay for itself in the long run. I did all the labor, if someone had to pay a plumber to install the product it would be a much longer time before it would pay for itself!

I chose this heater because I could use my existing vent. The first one was damaged in shipping but Bosch shipped a new one within a week. I use well water at a ground temperature of 54 deg. fh. The water coming out of the tap is comparable to the 50 gal tank heater I replaced. However, when taking a shower I notice a slight pressure drop when someone else opens a hot water tap. I also notice a slight temperature change as the water pressure changes with the pump cycling off and on. Overall I can put up with these quirks if I can save on propane. I might try narrowing the working range of the pump. If one had a city water supply they wouldn’t have this problem however I know the nearest municipal to me use water from a river which is 39 deg. during the winter. I’m also concerned about the maintenance the heater requires but would still install it if I had a choice.

This tankless water heater has been great. It took some getting used to, but we love it. We can see a clear savings in our use of propane. It is small and clean and really the best alternative for heating water. We did not get our tax benefit as had been promoted in the advertisement when we purchased it. It was not being offered for the 2008 year. I have heard it is supposed to be in place for 2009. That was one of the reasons we bought this unit over others that were similarly priced. Oh well……I think it is a good move toward using less energy.

I will NEVER EVER buy another Bosch Aquastar product in my life. Every few months the unit simply stops working. I can’t afford to keep having a plumber come and fix it (and he’s NEVER been able to fix it on one try)!

PURE GARBAGE! I’m hoping Amazon will lead me to a better tankless unit, otherwise, I’m going back to the tank!

This would be a much better offering if this were available on all of their larger tankless water heaters but it is not.

This is a model designed for one major appliance at a time and not really a whole house. No building department would approve this beyond its design and the expense of installing solar with such a small tankless unit is not worth the added expense. When solar is applied I have measured the solar hot water and it takes quite a while for the Bosch to react and deliver a comfortable range of hot water and settle it’s gas use where it is prone to shutting down the ignition and attempts to re-ignite if solar temperatures are higher than the pre-set temps or have not reached a steady temperature. The only solar that would work is the type that couples rooftop panel mounted storage and this requires load calculation for an additional 380lb+ of weight and an extra building permit. So only the most off the grid is going to consider this. I really don’t like the controls, this should have digital readouts and more advanced controls which hail back to the older 125B series.
